Benjamin Spock was an American pediatrician. He wrote The Common Sense Book of Baby and Child Care (1946), one of the best-selling books of all time.

Benjamin was the People’s Party’s nominee for President of the United States in 1972.

Benjamin was the son of Mildred Louise (Stoughton) and Benjamin Ives Spock.

Benjamin’s paternal grandfather was William H. Spock (the son of Stephen Spock and Elizabeth Romer). William was born in New York. Stephen was the son of James Spock and Mary Ann Smith. Elizabeth was the daughter of Henry Romer and Mary Jennings.

Benjamin’s paternal grandmother was Annie E. Sprague. Annie was born in New York, to English parents.
