Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah is the first in line (heir apparent) to become King of Jordan. He is a member of the Hashemite ruling family.
The Crown Prince is the oldest child of Abdullah II of Jordan (Abdullah bin Hussein bin Talal bin Abdullah bin Hussein bin Ali), who has been King of Jordan since 7 February, 1999, and of Queen Rania of Jordan (born Rania Al Abdullah). The Crown Prince is a Muslim.
The Crown Prince’s father is of half Jordanian and half English descent. The Crown Prince’s mother was born in Kuwait City, Kuwait, of Palestinian descent.
The Crown Prince’s paternal grandfather was Hussein of Jordan, King of Jordan from 1952 to 1999. The Crown Prince’s grandfather was the son of Talal of Jordan, King of Jordan from 1951 to 1952, and of Zein al-Sharaf. Talal was born in Mecca, now in Saudi Arabia, the son of Abdullah I of Jordan and Musbah bint Nasser. Zein was born in Alexandria, Sultanate of Egypt, the daughter of Jamal ‘Ali bin Nasser, Sharif of Mecca, Governor of Hauran, and of Wijdan Shakir Pasha.
The Crown Prince’s paternal grandmother is Princess Muna of Jordan (born Antoinette Avril Gardiner, the daughter of Walter Percy Gardiner and Doris Elizabeth Sutton). Antoinette is English, born in Chelmondiston, East Suffolk. Walter was the son of Arthur Gardiner and Mabel Jane Tovell. Doris was the daughter of Arthur Sutton and Dora Elizabeth Alderton.
The Crown Prince’s maternal grandparents were Faisal Sedki Al-Yassin and Ilham Yassin. Faisal and Ilham were Palestinians, from Tulkarm, in the West Bank.
