Archie Mountbatten-Windsor is a member of the British Royal Family. He is the son of Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, who is English-born, and of Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, a Los Angeles, California-born, actress, model, and humanitarian. He is the grandson of Charles, Prince of Wales, and of Diana, Princess of Wales, and the great-grandson of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh and Elizabeth II, who is the Queen of England, and of many member states in the Commonwealth of Nations.
He is the seventh in line to the throne of the U.K.
Archie is the nephew of Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, and of Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge. He is a cousin of Prince George of Cambridge.
Archie’s maternal grandmother is African-American. His paternal grandparents are/were white Europeans, of extensive European Royal descent. His maternal grandfather is a white American.

Prince Philip was born in Old Royal Palace, Athens, Kingdom of Greece, and is the son of Prince Andrew of Greece and Denmark and Princess Alice of Battenberg. Elizabeth II is the daughter of George VI, who was King of the United Kingdom from 1936 to 1952, and of Lady Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon.
Archie’s paternal grandmother was Diana, Princess of Wales (the daughter of Edward John Spencer, 8th Earl Spencer, and of The Honourable Frances Roche). Princess Diana was born in Kings Lynn, Norfolk. The 8th Earl Spencer was the son of the Albert Edward John Spencer, 7th Earl Spencer, and of Lady Cynthia Elinor Beatrix Hamilton Spencer. Frances was the daughter of Edmund Maurice Burke Roche, 4th Baron Fermoy, and of Ruth Sylvia Gill Roche, Baroness Fermoy.
Archie’s maternal grandfather is Thomas Wayne Markle (the son of Gordon Arnold Markel/Markle and Doris Mary/May Rita Sanders). Thomas is a white American, with German, English, Irish, Scottish, Scots-Irish/Northern Irish, and remote French, ancestry. He is a lighting director who worked on Married… with Children. Gordon was born in Pennsylvania, the son of Isaac Thomas Markel/Markle and Ruth Ann Arnold. Doris was born in New Hampshire, the daughter of Frederick/Fred George Sanders and Gertrude May Merrill, whose mother was born on Malta, to an English father and an Irish mother. Her family moved to Canada.
