Brian Haner is an American musician, comedian, and author. He is the son of Dustin Gaffron Haner and Florence Naoma West. Brian is the father of musician Synyster Gates. He is married to Suzy. He was previously married to Janice Arlene “Jan” (Smith) Gera.
Brian’s paternal grandfather was Fred Jacob Haner (the son of Frank Edmond Haner and Fannie Burnham Dustin). Frank was the son of Jacob Martin Haner and Sarah Ann Stroup. Fannie was the daughter of Frederick William Dustan and Helen Eliza Burnham.
Brian’s paternal grandmother was Martha Otelia Gaffron (the daughter of Otto Gaffron and Lois Mae Martin). Otto was the son of German immigrants Anton “Anthony” Gaffron and Anna Birkner. Lois was the daughter of Mark Martin and Flora W[ood] Whipple.
Brian’s maternal grandfather was William Logan West.
Brian’s maternal grandmother was Florence Mahala Davis (the daughter of Lewis Henry Davis and Susanna Williams). Lewis was the son of Sam Davis and Mahala A. Perryman. He was of Native American (Creek) descent.
