Dan Fredinburg was an American Google executive, climate activist, inventor, explorer, and entrepreneur. He died on April 25, 2015, of head injuries in an avalanche at Mount Everest’s South Base Camp, triggered by the April 2015 Nepal earthquake. Dan was the son of Deborah J. “Debbie” (Willis) and Paul W. Fredinburg.
Dan is sometimes described as having been Jewish. This is not correct. He was not of Jewish heritage. His surname originates with Dutch ancestry.
Dan’s paternal grandfather was Robert James Fredinburg (the son of Paul Fredinburg and Dolores). Paul was the son of Harry Fredinburg and Lula B. McCrory.
