Owen Farrell is a British professional rugby union player.
He is the son of Colleen (O’Loughlin) and rugby coach Andy Farrell, who played both rugby league and rugby union for England. Owen was born when his parents were sixteen years old. For the first five years of his life, he was named Owen O’Loughlin. Andy and Collenn married in 1995, changing Owen’s surname to “Farrell” the following year.
Owen’s paternal grandparents are Peter Farrell and Carol A. Heyes (the daughter of George Heyes and Hannah Rorcroft).
Owen’s maternal grandparents are Keiron O’Loughlin (the son of Joseph O’Loughlin and Ann Rowland) and Lynne Smith (the daughter of William Smith and Elizabeth Lowe). Keiron is an English former rugby league footballer.
